Level 2 charging, home & business

Level 2 EV charging: chargers, installation and cost.

Level 2 charging runs on a 240-volt circuit, like a dryer or oven, and is the fastest practical way to charge at home or at work. JuiceNet sells Level 2 chargers and installs them nationwide.

Level 1, Level 2 and DC fast charging

What each level means for you.

Level 1
Standard 120V outlet

The slowest option, typically about 2 to 5 miles of range per hour. Fine for light driving, slow for everything else.

Level 2
240V circuit

Roughly 10 to 30 miles of range per hour depending on the charger and vehicle, enough to fill most EVs overnight. The standard for home and workplace charging.

DC fast
High-power public charging

Built for road trips and quick stops. Not what you install at home.

How it works

From choosing a charger to charging

1 Choose your charger

Pick a Level 2 charger for your vehicle and home. Shop chargers or see our buying guide.

2 Get it installed

A licensed electrical contractor from our network installs the charger on a dedicated circuit, with permits where required. See installation.

3 Charge at home

Plug in when you park and wake up to a full battery on your schedule.

What does it cost?

A standard home install (no panel upgrade or trenching) typically runs about $500 to $1,200. A panel upgrade or a long run from the panel costs more. We give you a clear, itemized quote before any work begins.

Questions

Level 2 EV charging — FAQ

What is a Level 2 EV charger?
A Level 2 charger delivers power over a 240-volt circuit, the same kind used by large appliances. It charges an EV much faster than a standard wall outlet.
How long does Level 2 charging take?
It depends on your battery size and the charger’s power, but most EVs can fill overnight on Level 2.
Do I need a Level 2 charger?
It’s not required, but if you drive daily, home Level 2 charging is faster and usually cheaper than relying on public chargers.
Can any EV use a Level 2 charger?
Yes. With an adapter any EV can use a J1772 or Tesla Level 2 charger.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
Yes. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit, which should be installed by a licensed electrician with permits where required.
